Caferma School
The beginning of a merger

It was the year 1975 when the Caferma school was created from the merger of three training centers: Castella, Sant Fermín, and Liceu Major. Caferma then offered preschool, EGB (Basic General Education), and vocational training in administration and drafting. With the educational changes, the offering was transformed and Caferma began to provide preschool, primary, and secondary education. In the early nineties, it also became a pioneer center by being the first subsidized private school to provide teaching in Valencian in the city of Valencia

Common project
With the three training centers, preschool, EGB, and vocational training began to be offered.
The seed of change
Those were complicated times, but that is where the seed of a change was sown that continues to make changes to this day.
Adapting to new times
The handover that drove the change

In December 2005, the ownership changed, with two teachers from the school, Ana Raffi and Empar Romero, taking over the organization and management. In the following 10 years, the school adapted its content to the new times, a quality control system was established, and the center participated in numerous municipal, regional, and state projects where the capacity and motivation of the students stood out. Work began with neighborhood organizations and the facilities were improved.
Students always at the center of the entire project
A new methodological framework
During the 2013-2014 academic year, a step further was taken with the intention of creating a unique project with new ideas and great imagination. The school’s teaching staff developed a new methodological framework that unified the teaching-learning process across all stages and
placed the students at the center of the entire process
Giving shape to the project
Som Escola is born

Thus, on January 1, 2015, SOM ESCOLA was born, a teaching cooperative formed by 12 teachers who took on the challenge of managing, administering, and organizing the school for a new era. The continuous training of the teaching staff, with critical capacity and motivation, in constant contact with families, personal and individualized attention, and great confidence in the human potential of the center mark the path toward what we want to be: innovative, brave, with quality teaching and convinced of being able to offer the necessary tools for the full development of the children and adolescents who are part of this school community.
We believe in our students and are aware that we work with the most delicate material that exists. We promote a democratic spirit, group cohesion, peaceful conflict resolution, and the participation of the entire educational community in the center’s decision-making. Our project is a project for the future that is already part of our present.
