Secondary Education

Cooperative learning is a fundamental pillar of our methodology. Students work in heterogeneous teams with assigned roles, promoting co-responsibility, empathy, and assertive communication. This way of working fosters the development of personal and social skills, as well as learning how to learn.

Secondary education at Som Escola

Our professionals explain it to you.

Cross-level project

We promote cooperative and interdisciplinary learning through the Cross-level Project, an educational innovation project in which students from different grades work together. For several days throughout the course, teams (composed of students from each level) develop projects guided by different departments. With the participation of experts and field trips to sites of interest, students research, create, and reflect until they produce a final product that gives meaning to the entire learning process.

Friday workshops

On Fridays, we organize rotating workshops by department with practical and competency-based activities aligned with the curriculum. Students participate in dramatizations, experiments, programming, model making, or artistic creations, fostering active, interdisciplinary, and motivating learning.

Service-Learning (SL)

We connect school learning with real needs in our environment.
We develop Service-Learning projects in every department, in collaboration with local entities and municipal services. Students participate in actions such as awareness campaigns, intergenerational workshops, or selective waste collection, reflecting on their involvement and social contribution.

Social and environmental awareness

We foster an education committed to social and environmental values. We promote activities that drive civic responsibility, sustainability, and respect for the environment. We work on all of this transversally through projects, workshops, and Service-Learning actions.

Everyone can do everything

Inclusion

We adapt our teaching practice to guarantee an equitable education for all students. We apply measures such as:

  • Class splitting and reinforcements.
  • Co-teaching and cooperative learning.
  • Support for special educational needs (Speech and Language Therapy).
  • Psychopedagogical and emotional support.
  • Curricular Diversification Program (PDC) for 3rd and 4th year of ESO.

We work from the principle of inclusion to offer the same learning opportunities to all students.

Frequently asked questions

What is our approach to technology?2026-02-16T21:55:01+02:00

We believe that new technologies provide an innovative and interesting way to engage with content. They must always serve human beings and should not be used as a substitute for what students can learn through hands-on experience. For this reason, we teach how to use them in a balanced, educational, and responsible manner.

What materials are used in class?2026-02-16T21:53:32+02:00

At Som Escola, we use our own teaching materials. This approach not only offers cost savings but also ensures the content is adapted to the curricular requirements of each educational stage, aligns with the students’ pace, and is always kept up-to-date.
